Voyages resorts required a new café & watersports facility at the gateway to dunk island following the destruction of cyclone larry. Aligned with the jetty the café also serves as an arrivals & departures pavilion. Equiped with a commercial kitchen the café specialises in seafood for lunch & dinner.

The roof form opens up to the ocean & makes reference to a boats hull. The large covered deck provides shade for outdoor dining & timber screens to the highlight windows provide protection from the sun whilst allowing filtered light into the centre of the building.

The extensive use of sustainable hardwood presents a warm palette of materials that will age gracefully in the harsh seaside island environment.
